My client is a leader in the manufacturing/equipment industry and is looking for a Senior Procurement Engineer who has ideally has experience in NPI. This candidate should have a strong background in Mechanical Engineering and have deep knowledge of casting, machining and surface treatment.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for new supplier qualification and strategy
- Maintain and build rapport with current and new suppliers
- In charge of making sure that cost reduction targets are met by suppliers
- Create and be in charge of VMI programmes
- Make sure to follow up/escalate relevant supplier quality issues
- Familiarity with NPT and NPI and drive procurement activities related to that
- Conduct Continuous improvement programme for suppliers to maximise their efficiency
- In charge of the disposal of all non-conforming materials by liaising with the relevant internal and external parties
Requirements:
- Minimum Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 8 year's experience in Engineering/R&D/Sourcing/Procurement
- Must have proven experience in a high mix, low volume manufacturing environment
- Essential technical understanding of casting, machining and surface treatment
- Strong knowledge of SAP
