My clients are a well respected MNC with offices around the world and they are looking to bring in a Manager for their Data Engineering Team. You will manage the team of ENgineers in building their Data platform, to allow for the insights to be delivered to key stakeholders. The successful candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in Data or Software Engineering. Have good people management experience, be familiar with Big Data, and have excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Manage the team of Data Engineers in designing building and maintaining the Data platform for current and future needs
- Be a key contributor to Data architecture decisions
- Make sure that Data management is up to scratch and continually review it for any areas that can be improved
- Evaluate datasets in order to come up with ways to improve reliability and performance
- Optimize data retrieval efforts to ensure that key stakeholders are receiving the best information from their Data
- Perform additional Data related tasks when required
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science or related field
- 10 + Years of experience in Data Engineering, those with software engineering experience and strong Data Skills may also be considered
- At least 2 + years of leadership experience
- Experience in object-oriented design and coding as well as experience in working with large-scale data infrastructure
- Extensive knowledge of data modelling and various data structures
- Hands-on working experience with big data systems
- Great knowledge in programming or scripting languages
- Experienced in products such as SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Warehouse, and Power BI)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills required
