I am working exclusively with a rapidly-expanding multinational organization in the heavy machinery industry, seeking for an APAC Supply Chain Manager to take responsibility on their DC setup on from a regional to a global operations level with a strong focus in reducing transportation cost, optimization of the distribution network and supplier management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and guide a team of supply planners, procurement and logistics executives
- Coordinate supply fulfillment with regional vendors ensuring capacity levels in accordance to sales forecast generated by the Global Head of Sales and Operations
- Execute cost and quality driven supplier evaluation, selection, and development plans ensuring high standard KPI's and implement continuous improvement programs
- Accurately allocate supply to different distribution centers located across the APAC region
- Determine best shipping strategies by optimizing in-bound and out-bound logistics related to parts replenishment with a strong focus on transportation cost, inventory levels and lead time
- Implement improvement plans for packaging operations linked to distribution, handling and storage
- Maintain a close relationship with 3PL vendors and suppliers ensuring they meet the organization quality standards and procedures

REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain/Logistics or related field (MBA would be an advantage)
- At least 5 years of experience managing international suppliers and logistics operations in a reputable organization (Heavy Machinery/Automobile/Aerospace would be an advantage)
- At least 3 years of Managerial experience (leading buyers/planners/logistics executives)
- Proven experience in competitive bidding process for Freight and Supplier selection
- Supply Chain and Logistics credentials such as APICS, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 6 Sigma, Trade Compliance, MES, Incoterms (Highly preferred)
- Availability to travel regionally 20% and globally 5%
- Strong communication skills in English and Mandarin to be able to liaise with overseas vendors, suppliers and partners (An additional language would be an advantage)
- International exposure to be able to work collectively with diverse teams
