Senior Systems Engineer (Unix & Linux)

Looking for a Senior Systems Engineer with Unix and Linux experience. This is a contract position at 1 year to start, and the salary range is $5000-6500. Very actively hiring at the moment, apply today!

The Responsibilities

  • You'll be evaluating, testing, installing, administrating, migration, and maintaining an optimal on-premise operating environment
  • Responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of UNIX and Linux operating systems and related systems/software
  • Regular patching of OS administration to ensure system stability and security
  • Provide level 3 support for new installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Work on a KVM virtualization platform and VMware ESXi environment
  • Manage storage infrastructure; IBM flashsystem family and Dell 0 EMC storage family with zoning administration
  • Install, configure, and support Websphere, Weblogic, and OHS middleware components
  • Be involved in security hardening and security fixes. Also participate in security VA remediation analysis and execution
  • Understanding of backup and recovery procedures using backup tools for e.g. NetBackup.

The Requirements

  • Relevant educational background, such as Computer Science or Information Technology
  • Experience managing Unix/Linux and Middleware platform with the following specialized skills (this is the ideal, you don't need every single thing):
    • Solaris 10 and 11
    • Oracle LDOM Virtualization
    • Veritas Netbackup
    • Trend Micro Deep Security
    • WebLogic 11g,12C, OHS 11g, 12c, Oracle LDAP
    • IBM MQ
    • OHS 11g, 12c
    • Oracle iPlanet Pproxy Server
    • Linux Centos and RedHat
    • RedHat OS Cluster
    • Websphere and MQ middleware
    • Sun Cluster and Veritas storage foundation
    • Storage IBM/DELL-EMC
    • AWS
    • Kubernetes
