My client is a world leader in the design and manufacturing of complex medical devices and equipment and are expanding in Singapore. Intending to make Singapore a regional hub for R&D, they now seek an experienced Process Automation Engineer to join them.

Responsibilities:
- Assume responsibility to develop and qualify new processes to support New Product Development
- Research, develop, qualify and integrate new technologies, processes and materials ensuring compliance with the external standards, internal rules, design rules and internal requirements
- Develop new manufacturing processes and internal technical capabilities with focus on automation for new product development activities
- Design and conduct experiments to demonstrate process feasibility and establish essential engineering parameters for manufacturing processes
- Develop basic design data, define operating conditions and critical limits, and establish safety and quality parameters for manufacturing process
- Ensure quality in product design and its processes for usability, reliability, functionality, capability, marketability and manufacturability
- Analyse and interpret experiment and manufacturing process data of the materials
- Collaborate with operation team to develop design criteria for new product and new technology transfer from R&D to production
- Define the technical requirements for suppliers and provide technical support to suppliers
- Design layout of equipment or workspaces and optimize the production flow to achieve maximum efficiency
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing products and process improvement
- Maintain effective communication with the other departments - Product Marketing, RA, Operations, Quality
- Research new processes (injection molding, extrusion, packaging etc.) or materials processing technologies for new product development
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Material Sciences or equivalent with at least 5 years' experience in R&D, Manufacturing and Process Engineering for medical devices or other related equipment
- Exposure to a GMP and ISO13485 regulated environment
- Experience in high volume manufacturing and assembly processes
- Experience with injection molding/blow molding will be a big plus
- Know-how of manufacturing processes involving thermoplastic polymers, silicon and metals
- Prior knowledge in automation and digitalization
- Knowledge in the verification and validation of medical devices
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong systematic mind set
