My client is a world leader with multiple facilities across the globe. Asia is a big R&D and manufacturing hub for them, and they now seek an experienced Manufacturing Director to join them

Responsibilities:

  • Assume responsibility for overall day to day production, manufacturing and operations
  • Identify, develop and implement new manufacturing technologies
  • Ensure the overall strategic leadership to achieve high standard deliveries of just in time production, product quality, operations efficiency and management of new product
  • Drive the effective management of operations and engineering teams within the designated manufacturing units to ensure the cohesive and integrated efforts
  • Develop a long-term vision for the designated Manufacturing Units which aligns with the overall manufacturing vision and implement strategic directions
  • Create opportunities to promote manufacturing teams across the business
  • Provide leadership for the operational, engineering & people management aspects of the manufacturing organization
  • Assume responsibility for designated Manufacturing Units' operations to meet GMP and other compliance requirements.
  • Oversee both the engineering team and operations team within the designated Manufacturing Units to ensure the best quality of products delivered
  • Act as the escalation point for complex operations and people related issues and provide leadership support to other manufacturing facilities within the region
  • Formulate and manage budgets and forecasts for operations and manufacturing engineering
  • Monitor resource allocation to control expenses, review performance and productivity to deliver efficiencies in the cost of business operation
  • Develop and implement plans to meet current and future production volume and delivery requirements
  • Implement strategies for the continual improvement of product and process quality and efficiency improvements using Lean and 6 Sigma tools
  • Work closely with Purchasing to develop a high-quality supplier base through the development of existing suppliers and introduction of new suppliers
  • Liaise with Marketing and Product Managers to ensure that Manufacturing is meeting the requirements of customers
  • Ensure that appropriate measures are in place to protect intellectual property and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards

Requirements:

  • Advanced Degree in Engineering or Manufacturing with at least 15 years' relevant experience in manufacturing operations, plant management or equivalent
  • Postgraduate qualification in Engineering or Business Management will be a plu
  • Extensive experience leading multiple production teams and NPI process
  • Prior experience in setting up new facilities, greenfield/brownfield manufacturing set ups and relocation of facilities
  • External or internal accreditation or proven experience in management of businesses at superior level
  • Ability to negotiate competing project and company requirements and align team planning and decision making with the broader organisation
  • Natural leader with the ability to manage key stakeholders, executive management and teams of diversified skillsets, cultural and social background
